Swiss Village has named Cody Cearns, CNA, as the new Certified Nursing Assistant Mentor. Cody began his employment as a CNA at Swiss Village on January 13, 2017. On November 13th, he transitioned in to the role of CNA Mentor in Healthcare. Prior to joining the Swiss Village team, Cody earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Medicine from International Business College and was employed as a Vet Tech. In his spare time, Cody enjoys experiencing new things through traveling and meeting new people.
“The CNA mentor program is a new program Swiss Village is implementing to continue our efforts in continuing to be one of the best facilities,” said Cody. “The passion that drives me is knowing these are the same people that taught us about life, raised us, and now we have the opportunity to care for them as they once cared for us. As the mentor, my main goal is to act as an advocate for our residents, CNAs, and the rest of the Swiss Village staff by using open and honest communication. My personal goal is to show my fellow CNAs how valuable they are in the care of our friends and family. While assisting staff so that they feel confident and able to care for the residents who call Swiss Village home, I will be assisting in continuing education and maintaining quality assurance. Through this, we can continue to help our elders engage in life as their needs and abilities change.”
“We are so fortunate to have Cody as part of the Swiss Village family and are excited to see him grow in his new role as CNA Mentor,” stated Taylor Lehman, VP of Human Resources at Swiss Village. “Cody’s professional demeanor, team-based approach, and positive attitude are invaluable to our community.”
