Swiss Village Announces Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing

Swiss Village has promoted Amanda (Mandy) Hunley, RN, as the Director of Nursing. Hunley graduated from South Adams High School and has an Associate of Science in Nursing Degree from Indiana Purdue University, Fort Wayne. She began her employment at Swiss Village in 1998 after receiving her Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) License through Swiss Village. In 2002, Hunley became a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) and then became a Registered Nurse later that same year. In 2005, she became a Charge Nurse, and then in 2016, she began serving as the Unit Manager for the Short-Term Rehab unit. Hunley currently serves as the facility’s Infection Preventionist and is a certified Basic Life Support Instructor. Hunley most recently served as the Assistant Director of Nursing for the retirement community.

“I am thankful for this new opportunity, and I look forward to this new adventure in my nursing career,” said Mandy Hunley.

Hunley is married to her husband, Dan. Together they have two children, Addisyn and Noah. “In my spare time, I like to exercise, spend time with my family, and hike,” said Hunley.

Ashley Tonner, RN, has been hired as the Assistant Director of Nursing for Swiss Village. Tonner graduated from Adams Central High School and has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Saint Francis. Tonner has worked at Parkview Regional Medical Center as a Patient Care Technician and Registered Nurse, caring for critically ill patients. Most recently, she has worked as a Registered Nurse for Adams Memorial Hospital as a triage nurse. She will begin working for Swiss Village as the Assistant Director of Nursing on July 26, 2021.

“I am so excited to join the Swiss Village team and look forward to continuing my nursing career in this new capacity,” said Ashley Tonner.  “I feel this new role as ADON will allow me to expand my skills and knowledge and am looking forward to learning more about long-term care and the wonderful people of our community who live and work there.”

Tonner is married to her husband, Brendon. They have one daughter, Adleigh. “We love being outdoors, going camping, and spending time with our families,” said Tonner.
