Wellness Pavilion
The Arthur and Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion opened its facility for membership January 15, 2009. The overarching goal of the 21,202 square foot wellness pavilion is to provide the citizens of the southern part of Adams County with the facilities, equipment, and programs to promote an enhanced quality of life. “I see the wellness center as a venue to promote healthy lifestyles aimed toward improving one’s total well being,” said Sarah Conrad, Wellness Pavilion Director. “We want to make Berne known for its commitment to overall wellness.”
Facilities include an aquatic center, strength building fitness area, floor exercise space, a game room along with a lounge area. In addition balance, high & low impact, toning & conditioning, and water aerobics classes are offered. The facility is also able to accommodate receptions and parties.
Hours of operation are as follows: Monday – Thursday 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
South Campus Wellness Center
Swiss Village’s South Campus Wellness Center is availabe to Swiss Village Residents along with the Arthur & Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion. The South Campus Wellness Center offers, NuSteps, recumbent bikes, and strength training equipment. Residents may participate in several senior based classes. Wellness Directors assess residents’ physical condition annually, recording residents’ heart rates, blood pressures, heights, and weights. In addition, flexibility, balance, speed, endurance, and strength are measured with various tests. A complete list of classes may be viewed on the South Campus Wellness Center Schedule.
